Daubigny's The Children with the Wagon, woven soft — a homely country moment of children and a cart set in his warm, worn rural tones, the small human story held gently within the wider landscape. Daubigny's world was the everyday countryside, quietly loved. As a cushion that warmth turns tactile and welcoming — a piece to lean into at the end of the settee or gather under an elbow on the sofa, a slow rural afternoon kept close in the weave.
