David Lucas's mezzotint Frontispiece to Constable's English Landscape looks over East Bergholt in Suffolk — the countryside John Constable grew up in, rendered in the deep, velvety tones of the engraver's art, all moving cloud and shadowed field. Woven into a soft, double-sided throw, that rich English light and shade becomes a warm layer to draw over your knees on a dim evening, and a quietly dramatic landscape to leave on show, folded across the sofa or the foot of the bed.
