The making

Woven as a jacquard tapestry from soft, durable yarns and finished by hand — made to drape and to last.

Materials & Care

Woven cotton-blend tapestry. Machine wash cold on gentle; tumble dry low or lay flat. Do not bleach.

Dimensions

See the size above. Woven by the piece, so expect small, characterful variation.

Shipping & Returns

Woven and shipped in about two weeks — roughly one week to make, one to deliver. Easy returns within 30 days.

Aelbert Cuyp's Orpheus and the Animals gathers a hushed circle of creatures around the musician, drawn in by his song and held in Cuyp's warm, golden light. Woven as a soft, reversible throw, that gentle spell settles into a layer you reach for on the sofa. There is plenty to find among the resting animals, so it holds its own folded over a chair — a calm, storied piece to live with and pull close on a quiet evening.

  • Jacquard-woven, double-sided and reversible; finished with fringed edges
  • Soft, cosy cotton-blend — a warm layer and a piece of art at once
  • Machine washable; made to order

Arrived early, packed beautifully

My neighbor saw it through the window and ordered one that night. The detail in Orpheus and the Animals came through far better than I expected at this size. There was no letdown anywhere in this.

worth every dollar

I have bought a lot of things online that looked better on a screen, and this was the opposite. This was my first Cuyp in the house, and Orpheus and the Animals has more than earned its spot. I have sent the link to four people already.

shipped fast, arrived flawless

My husband walked past it and immediately asked where it came from. This was my first Cuyp in the house, and Orpheus and the Animals has more than earned its spot. It made the whole primary bedroom come together.

Ten out of ten.

I unwrapped this in the kitchen and my daughter asked if we could get another one. For anyone choosing between Cuyp pieces, Orpheus and the Animals is the one to get.

My husband noticed immediately

The packaging alone told me these people care about what they ship. Everything about the fit in the dining room came out right on the first try. Five stars, and easily earned.
