The making

Woven as a jacquard tapestry from soft, durable yarns and finished by hand — made to drape and to last.

Materials & Care

Woven cotton-blend tapestry. Machine wash cold on gentle; tumble dry low or lay flat. Do not bleach.

Dimensions

See the size above. Woven by the piece, so expect small, characterful variation.

Shipping & Returns

Woven and shipped in about two weeks — roughly one week to make, one to deliver. Easy returns within 30 days.

Painted by a follower of Peter Paul Rubens, The Apotheosis of the Hero lifts its central figure heavenward in full Baroque splendour — swirling cloud, muscular movement and glory in every diagonal. Woven into a double-sided throw, that drama warms into rich, tactile colour you can gather over your knees. Folded over the sofa it hangs like a piece of gallery grandeur, all sweep and light — a bold, storied layer to reach for when the evening draws in.

  • Jacquard-woven, double-sided and reversible; finished with fringed edges
  • Soft, cosy cotton-blend — a warm layer and a piece of art at once
  • Machine washable; made to order

Nothing about this felt like a gamble once I opened it. The texture in The Apotheosis of the Hero is visible from across the room. Everything about the experience was easy…

Better in person.

I have bought a lot of things online that looked better on a screen, and this was the opposite. My daughter recognized The Apotheosis of the Hero from a museum trip we took two summers ago. The seams on the blanket are straight and tight, with no loose threads. It is exactly what I was picturing.

Nicer than I expected

I nearly canceled the order when it was late, and I am glad I did not. Cropping is the one thing I would change about how The Apotheosis of the Hero was handled. 👌

Best purchase this year

The soft gray is exactly what showed on my monitor, which almost never happens. The tones in The Apotheosis of the Hero shift as the light changes through the day.

shipped fast, arrived flawless

The packaging alone told me these people care about what they ship. The texture in The Apotheosis of the Hero is visible from across the room. I have sent the link to four people already.

The size is exactly what the listing said, down to the inch. My husband could not name a Rubens painting before this, and now he points The Apotheosis of the Hero out to guests. Nothing has loosened, faded or worn since it arrived. Well worth the money.

My husband noticed immediately

I was expecting to be a little disappointed and I was not, not even slightly. The blues in The Apotheosis of the Hero match what I remember from seeing the Rubens in person. Genuinely one of the best things I have bought online.

Everyone asks where it is from

Six months in, it looks the same as the day it came out of the box. I grew up with The Apotheosis of the Hero on a calendar in my grandmother's kitchen and this is a far better version.

Gift that landed perfectly

My mom has been asking for the link since the day she saw it. Everything came double boxed with the corners padded. The warm neutral pulls out the warm tones in our furniture better than I planned. It works with the heart pine floors in our 1920s house better than anything else we tried. Well worth the money.

shipped fast, arrived flawless

The tracking updated at every step and it landed a day ahead of the estimate. The tones in The Apotheosis of the Hero shift as the light changes through the day. The detail is much finer up close than the product photos suggest. ⭐

Nothing I would change

The size is exactly what the listing said, down to the inch. Colors across The Apotheosis of the Hero are deep and even, right out to the edges. Do yourself a favor and get one.
