Goya's A Way of Flying, from his late series of Disparates — a handful of figures borne up into a black sky on great bat-like wings, half machine, half nightmare. It hangs between wit and unease, the way the best of his dark work does: strange, dreamlike, impossible to fully explain. On a wall it invites a longer look, rewarding the eye that lingers in its shadows rather than passing through.

Printed to be kept — giclée on gallery-grade archival paper, its deep blacks held true for years.

  • Giclée print on smooth, acid-free 220gsm gallery-grade fine-art paper
  • Matte finish, faithful colour

Nice deep blue, longer wait

I ordered during a busy season, so I expected a wait, and I got one. For a Goya at this price, A Way of Flying Francisco holds up well.

beyond what I expected

This is the rare thing that looks better in my house than it did on the website. The tones in A Way of Flying Francisco shift as the light changes through the day.

Six months in, still perfect

This is the third thing I have ordered here and the quality has been consistent every time. For anyone choosing between Goya pieces, A Way of Flying Francisco is the one to get.

My mom has been asking for the link since the day she saw it. The order confirmation, the shipping notice and the delivery all lined up as promised.

Pretty close to the photos

My mother in law asked about it within ten minutes of walking in. At four stars I would still say A Way of Flying Francisco does what I hoped in this room. We moved from a studio in Manhattan out to Queens and this came through the move fine.

Exactly what I wanted.

My mom has been asking for the link since the day she saw it. Sunlight hits it every afternoon and the color has not moved at all. Buy it, you will not regret it.

Packed well, took forever

Shipping was slower than the estimate, though the item itself is very good. I would give it four and a half if the site allowed.

Great poster, great service

I read every review before ordering and I can confirm they were all accurate. I grew up with A Way of Flying Francisco on a calendar in my grandmother's kitchen and this is a far better version. Our county road kicks up red clay dust and this still looks as clean as the day it came. This is coming with us to the next house. 😍

Packed well, took forever

I ordered during a busy season, so I expected a wait, and I got one. Fitting it into the kitchen took some rearranging that I did not plan on. It took a couple of days of moving things around before it looked right. It handled a Tennessee summer of open windows and afternoon storms without any trouble…

shipped fast, arrived flawless

My neighbor saw it through the window and ordered one that night. This was my first Goya in the house, and A Way of Flying Francisco has more than earned its spot. It survived a week of the air conditioning being out in Houston in July. It is easily my favorite thing in the dining room now.

My favorite thing here

This showed up three days after I ordered it and I have not stopped looking at it since. My daughter recognized A Way of Flying Francisco from a museum trip we took two summers ago. The veining across the poster is dramatic without being busy. Money well spent, without question.

Nothing about this felt like a gamble once I opened it. I have wanted a good version of A Way of Flying Francisco in this house for years. Support answered my email the same afternoon with an actual answer. Well worth the money.

I ordered on a Sunday night and it was at my door Wednesday morning.
