Twachtman's Icebound follows a frozen brook as it threads through snow-hushed banks, the whole scene held in soft whites and cool greys with barely a sound in it. An American Impressionist working close to home, he found this quiet corner endlessly worth painting — winter pared back to its gentlest tones. It's a deeply still image, more mood than incident. A serene, wintry piece for a bedroom or reading corner, at its best in a room kept calm and uncluttered.

Great poster, small note

This is my second order here and the quality has been steady both times. Edges around Icebound John Henry are slightly tighter than the listing image showed. The weight of the poster is more than the photos suggest. No real regrets here.

beyond what I expected

We ordered the poster for the mudroom and ended up moving it somewhere everyone can see it. The warm neutral pulls out the warm tones in our furniture better than I planned. My only regret is not ordering it a year ago.

shipped fast, arrived flawless

This is the rare thing that looks better in my house than it did on the website. I have wanted a good version of Icebound John Henry in this house for years. My sister ordered the same thing for her place a week later. Money well spent, without question.

no notes, genuinely

My neighbor saw it through the window and ordered one that night…

Better than the photos

Our hallway had been half finished for a year and this was the piece that closed it out.

Reviews like this keep us going. Thank you, and enjoy the hallway. - Nadia, Customer Care

Better than the photos

The box arrived without a single dent, which impressed me before I even opened it. I have seen Icebound John Henry in books for twenty years and this is the first version that felt right. It shipped the day after I ordered, with a real tracking number that worked. Money well spent, without question.
