Another of Cézanne's lifelong Bathers, this one gathers a handful of figures at the water's edge — limbs and reflections knitted into the trees and sky around them, painted in patch upon patch of cool, considered colour. He returned to bathers for decades, less interested in the people than in how they might lock together with the land. It has a poised, open-air stillness. Above a reading chair or a bed, it brings a fresh, contemplative calm — nature and figure in easy accord.
Printed slowly and well — giclée on gallery-grade archival paper, so the colour stays true.
