The making

Woven as a jacquard tapestry from soft, durable yarns and finished by hand — made to drape and to last.

Materials & Care

Woven cotton-blend tapestry. Machine wash cold on gentle; tumble dry low or lay flat. Do not bleach.

Dimensions

See the size above. Woven by the piece, so expect small, characterful variation.

Shipping & Returns

Woven and shipped in about two weeks — roughly one week to make, one to deliver. Easy returns within 30 days.

Peter Paul Rubens' The Fall of Phaeton catches the sky in uproar — the sun chariot overturning, horses plunging and figures tumbling through cloud as the reckless driver falls. Woven into a reversible throw, that whirl of movement settles into rich, dramatic colour for the end of the sofa. Folded over a chair it reads as a piece of pure Baroque energy, gold and storm held together — a striking, warm layer to reach for when the evening turns cool.

  • Jacquard-woven, double-sided and reversible; finished with fringed edges
  • Soft, cosy cotton-blend — a warm layer and a piece of art at once
  • Machine washable; made to order

Real quality for the price

I ordered on a Sunday night and it was at my door Wednesday morning. I have seen The Fall of Phaeton in books for twenty years and this is the first version that felt right. It works with the heart pine floors in our 1920s house better than anything else we tried. It is easily my favorite thing in the upstairs hallway now.

Six months in, still perfect

I sent a question about care the day it arrived and got a real answer from a real person. Colors across The Fall of Phaeton are deep and even, right out to the edges. Every corner and edge on the blanket was finished properly. The order confirmation, the shipping notice and the delivery all lined up as promised.

Better than the photos

We put the blanket in the guest bedroom the night it came and the space finally makes sense.

We ordered the blanket for the hallway and ended up moving it somewhere everyone can see it. My daughter recognized The Fall of Phaeton from a museum trip we took two summers ago. You have a repeat customer in me.
