Rubens's The Wedding of Peleus and Thetis — the gods gathered at the marriage feast that myth remembers for the golden apple to come, a long assembly of deities set among clouds and classical trappings. Rubens fills it with easy movement and warm colour, the immortals leaning and turning as if at any grand table. A lively mythological scene. It suits a dining room or a study wall, somewhere a gathering of figures feels at home among your own.

Better than the last one

The box was well packed and everything inside was in perfect condition. Seeing The Wedding of Peleus and Thetis every day has been the best part of this order. I have recommended it to two people already, with a note about the wait. I emailed twice before I got a shipping update, and then it moved quickly. Better than the alternatives I looked at.

I have bought a lot of things online that looked better on a screen, and this was the opposite. The tones in The Wedding of Peleus and Thetis shift as the light changes through the day. It got here ahead of the estimate and in perfect condition. Support answered my email the same afternoon with an actual answer. Recommending this to anyone who asks.

We have had this a few months now and it has settled in well. I looked at three sellers before choosing this Rubens, and The Wedding of Peleus and Thetis was the right call…
