The making

Woven as a jacquard tapestry from soft, durable yarns and finished by hand — made to drape and to last.

Materials & Care

Woven cotton-blend tapestry. Machine wash cold on gentle; tumble dry low or lay flat. Do not bleach.

Dimensions

See the size above. Woven by the piece, so expect small, characterful variation.

Shipping & Returns

Woven and shipped in about two weeks — roughly one week to make, one to deliver. Easy returns within 30 days.

Aelbert Cuyp's Peasants with Four Cows by the River Merwede rests a small group and their cattle on the bank of a wide, glassy river, everything washed in his signature golden light. As a soft, reversible throw it becomes a warm and grounding layer — one to draw over your knees on a slow afternoon. Folded over a chair it keeps the whole riverside calm intact, the water lying still and bright behind the herd.

  • Jacquard-woven, double-sided and reversible; finished with fringed edges
  • Soft, cosy cotton-blend — a warm layer and a piece of art at once
  • Machine washable; made to order

wish I had sized up

My mother in law asked about it within ten minutes of walking in. I bought it for Peasants with Four Cows by the River Merwede and I am glad I did. Happy enough to leave a review, which I rarely do.

Arrived early, packed beautifully

This is the rare thing that looks better in my house than it did on the website. The detail in Peasants with Four Cows by the River Merwede came through far better than I expected at this size.

Nicer than I expected

We have had this a few months now and it has settled in well.
