This is the rare thing that looks better in my house than it did on the website. I grew up with The Heritage of the Wagon Charles François on a calendar in my grandmother’s kitchen and this is a far better version. Well worth the money.
I would have given five stars if the delivery had not dragged on. Colors in The Heritage of the Wagon Charles François are a little softer than the listing images. The seams on the blanket are tidy, with one small pucker I only found looking for it. The weight of the blanket is more than the photos suggest. It survived a move from Seattle to Boise in the back of a pickup.
The quality is well below what the price suggests. Dark passages in The Heritage of the Wagon Charles François have collapsed into one flat tone.
You are right to be frustrated. Eight weeks is far outside what we promise, and we are tracing where this stalled. Someone will email you today with a firm answer. - the Slow Objet team
This is my second order here and the quality has been steady both times. I get more comments about The Heritage of the Wagon Charles François than about anything else we own. No real regrets here.
I have bought a lot of things online that looked better on a screen, and this was the opposite. This was my first Daubigny in the house, and The Heritage of the Wagon Charles François has more than earned its spot. The packing slip, the label and the contents all matched my order exactly. The box was waiting in the vestibule when I got home and nobody on the block touched it. Anyone hesitating should just place the order. 👌
