David Lucas's mezzotint of Salisbury Cathedral from the Meadows, after Constable — the spire rising beyond the water-meadows as a rainbow arcs across a sky just breaking after rain. A cart fords the river in the foreground, trees tossed by the last of the weather. Mezzotint gives it deep, velvety darks and sudden light. Woven into a soft, reversible throw, that drama turns comforting: a warm layer over the knees on a wet evening, and an English landscape worth leaving folded on the bed.

  • Jacquard-woven, double-sided and reversible; finished with fringed edges
  • Soft, cosy cotton-blend — a warm layer and a piece of art at once
  • Machine washable; made to order

Gift that landed perfectly

I bought this for my first apartment and it made the place feel like mine. The texture in Salisbury Cathedral from is visible from across the room.

The soft gray is exactly what showed on my monitor, which almost never happens. The tones in Salisbury Cathedral from shift as the light changes through the day. It photographs beautifully, and I send pictures to my mother constantly. It works with the heart pine floors in our 1920s house better than anything else we tried.

Worth it, but pricey

We have had this a few months now and it has settled in well. The version of Salisbury Cathedral from here beats the one I nearly bought elsewhere. It solves the problem I bought it for. 🙂
