Hokusai's Fujimigahara in Owari Province sets a cooper at work on a great wooden tub — and through the perfect circle of the barrel, small and blue in the distance, sits Mount Fuji. One of his wittiest Thirty-six Views: the mountain glimpsed through the frame of an ordinary day's labour. All clean line and calm colour, it rewards a second look, good above a desk or a kitchen shelf where the eye keeps returning to it.

Printed to be kept — giclée on gallery-grade archival paper, colour held true for years.

  • Giclée print on smooth, acid-free 220gsm gallery-grade fine-art paper

Okay, would not reorder

The warm neutral reads gray in our light, which I did not anticipate.

Exactly what I wanted.

I sent a question about care the day it arrived and got a real answer from a real person. I have seen Fujimigahara in Owari Province in books for twenty years and this is the first version that felt right.

Small size surprise

Delivery took two weeks longer than the site suggested, though nothing was damaged. Reproducing Fujimigahara in Owari Province at this size was never going to be perfect, and this comes close. Good enough that I am considering a second one.
