Rubens' The Four Continents, woven into soft cloth — the continents imagined as four women reclining with the river gods, all warm flesh, soft drapery and easy, generous abundance in Rubens' unmistakable hand. Rich and full of life. Woven plush and textural, it makes a handsome cushion for the corner of the sofa or the foot of the bed, an old allegory in warm tones to lean into and live beside.

  • Jacquard-woven on both sides in soft, durable yarn
  • Plush and textural — insert included
  • For the sofa, a bed or a reading chair
  • Made to order, just for you

Took three weeks to arrive

I ordered this for our sunroom and it does everything I wanted, with one small caveat. I get more comments about The Four Continents than about anything else we own. Happy enough to leave a review, which I rarely do.

beyond what I expected

We put the pillow in the playroom the night it came and the space finally makes sense. It looks expensive next to things that cost twice as much. Summers here run humid from May through September and nothing about it has sagged or warped. I could not be happier with how this turned out.

Better than the photos

The photos on the site are honest, which is more than I can say for most places. Standing six feet back, The Four Continents reads exactly the way it should. Nothing has loosened, faded or worn since it arrived. Fog rolls in most mornings out here and it has stayed fresh through all of it. I have zero notes.

Everyone asks where it is from

I read every review before ordering and I can confirm they were all accurate. The texture in The Four Continents is visible from across the room. Full marks from this household.

Six months in, still perfect

Two of us carried the box in expecting the worst and everything inside was perfectly protected. I have seen The Four Continents in books for twenty years and this is the first version that felt right. I will be back before the holidays.

The cream is perfect

This cost less than the two other options I was weighing and it beat both of them. I have wanted a good version of The Four Continents in this house for years.

ordering another one soon

We ordered the pillow for the family room and ended up moving it somewhere everyone can see it.
