The making

Woven as a jacquard tapestry from soft, durable yarns and finished by hand — made to drape and to last.

Materials & Care

Woven cotton-blend tapestry. Machine wash cold on gentle; tumble dry low or lay flat. Do not bleach.

Dimensions

See the size above. Woven by the piece, so expect small, characterful variation.

Shipping & Returns

Woven and shipped in about two weeks — roughly one week to make, one to deliver. Easy returns within 30 days.

Rembrandt's The Abduction of Europa catches the myth mid-drama — Europa borne across the water on the back of the disguised god while her companions startle on the wooded shore, a golden city hazy in the distance. Woven into a double-sided throw, that rich landscape and shifting light resolve into deep, storied colour for the sofa. Folded over a chair it reads as a scene held still, sky and water and alarm — a warm, atmospheric piece to reach for of an evening.

  • Jacquard-woven, double-sided and reversible; finished with fringed edges
  • Soft, cosy cotton-blend — a warm layer and a piece of art at once
  • Machine washable; made to order

Nothing I would change

The size is exactly what the listing said, down to the inch. This was my first Rembrandt in the house, and The Abduction of Europa has more than earned its spot. Five stars, and easily earned.

good, not flawless

For the money I expected perfection and got something close to it. The version of The Abduction of Europa here beats the one I nearly bought elsewhere.

worth every dollar

Nothing about this felt like a gamble once I opened it. Scale was my worry, and The Abduction of Europa got exactly the room it needed at this size. Our finished basement gets no daylight at all and this gave the space some life. I will order from here again the moment I need something.

Better in person.

This is the third thing I have ordered here and the quality has been consistent every time. The packing slip, the label and the contents all matched my order exactly. The total at checkout matched the quote exactly, with no surprise charges. Already deciding where the next one goes. 🙂

Pretty close to the photos

The size runs slightly smaller than I had in my head from the listing. It looks better in daylight than under warm bulbs. A small letdown on timing, a good result in the end…

Glad we went with this

Shipping was slower than the estimate, though the item itself is very good. I get more comments about The Abduction of Europa than about anything else we own…

Ten out of ten.

I ordered on a Sunday night and it was at my door Wednesday morning. Ordering this meant seeing The Abduction of Europa every single morning, which was the whole point.
